My son took this picture when the race began. He is the photographer in the family. All the pictures I place here will have been taken by him.We have been going to the Indy 500 race for quite a few years and this was one of the most exciting races ever!! In spite of the 3 hour rain delay, I have to say that we had a great time.
Every year the race takes place on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. We get there on Friday because there is so much to do and see before race day. We go to the track on Friday and on Saturday in the city of Indianapolis, there is a big parade with the race car drivers, celebrities and floats.
It's like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade minus the drivers.
